White Bean Hummus

This creamy and smooth White Bean Hummus is a delightful twist on the classic chickpea-based hummus. Made with cannellini or great northern beans, this hummus has a rich, velvety texture that pairs perfectly with fresh veggies, pita bread, or crackers. The addition of garlic, lemon juice, and tahini gives it a familiar hummus flavor, while the white beans lend a slightly sweeter, milder taste. It’s a perfect appetizer for any occasion, offering a nutritious, protein-packed option that’s both satisfying and delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans (cannellini or great northern beans), drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the white beans, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, and smoked paprika (if using). Pulse until the mixture starts to come together.
  2. While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the hummus is smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  3. Taste the hummus and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with a little extra olive oil and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  5. Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Enjoy your homemade White Bean Hummus as a healthy snack or appetizer!
