Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (about 4 cups) egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are tender and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream until well combined. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes.
