Smash Burgers With House Sauce

Smash Burgers with House Sauce are a deliciously satisfying take on the classic burger, featuring thin, crispy beef patties that are seared to perfection and topped with a tangy, creamy house sauce. The beauty of a smash burger lies in its simplicity—pressing the beef patties flat against a hot griddle creates a caramelized crust that locks in the juices while keeping the inside tender. Paired with the signature house sauce, which blends the perfect balance of savory and tangy flavors, these burgers are sure to become a favorite for any burger lover. Serve them up on soft buns with your choice of toppings for a meal that’s both quick and irresistible.

Ingredients:

For the Smash Burgers:

  • 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • 4 soft burger buns
  • Butter for toasting buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions

For the House Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Make the house sauce: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the burgers.
  2. Prepare the smash burgers: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently roll each portion into a loose ball. Season each ball with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the burgers: Heat a large cast-iron skillet or griddle over high heat until it’s very hot. Place a beef ball onto the skillet and immediately smash it flat with a sturdy spatula or burger press. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and browned. Flip the patty, add a slice of cheese on top, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked through. Repeat with the remaining beef balls.
  4. Toast the buns: While the burgers are cooking, butter the burger buns and toast them on a separate skillet or under the broiler until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers: Spread a generous amount of house sauce on the top and bottom halves of each bun. Place the cheese-topped patty on the bottom bun and add your desired toppings. Close the burger with the top bun.
  6. Serve: Serve your smash burgers hot, with extra house sauce on the side if desired.

Enjoy your Smash Burgers with House Sauce as a quick, flavorful meal that’s sure to satisfy any burger craving!
