Sausage Gravy Casserole Recipe

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked. Remove the sausage from the pan and set aside, leaving the grease in the skillet.
  2. Make the gravy: Add butter to the skillet with the sausage grease and melt over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, whisking constantly to form a roux. Gradually add the milk, whisking to avoid lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens. Stir in the cooked sausage, garlic powder, pepper, and salt to taste.
