Sausage Crescent Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 breakfast sausage links (fully cooked)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (optional for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp poppy or sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforations.
  3. Assemble the rolls: Place one fully cooked sausage link at the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. If using cheese, sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheddar over the sausage. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting from the wide end and tucking the point underneath.
  4. Add egg wash (optional): Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds if desired.
  5. Bake: Place the assembled rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

These sausage crescent rolls are perfect served with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy them fresh from the oven as a warm, satisfying snack!
