Ingredients:

  • 1 cup red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange slices, halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh apple slices
  • 1/2 cup fresh grapes, halved
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Gelatin Base: In a medium saucepan, combine the red wine, orange juice, water, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  2. Dissolve the Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold water and let it stand for about 5 minutes to bloom. Once bloomed, stir the gelatin into the warm wine mixture until it is completely dissolved.
  3. Add Spices and Fruits: Add the ground cinnamon and nutmeg to the gelatin mixture, stirring well to incorporate. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, but do not let it set.
  4. Prepare the Mold: Arrange the sliced strawberries, orange slices, apple slices, and grapes in a gelatin ring mold or a bundt pan. Pour the cooled gelatin mixture over the fruits, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  5. Chill the Gelatin Ring: Cover the mold with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is firm and fully set.
  6. Unmold and Serve: To unmold the gelatin ring, dip the bottom of the mold briefly in warm water to loosen it. Place a serving platter on top of the mold and invert it to release the gelatin ring. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Feel free to customize the fruit selection based on what’s in season or your personal preference. This Sangria Gelatin Ring is sure to be a hit at your next get-together!
