Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows (or about 10 oz.)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. You can also line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. Melt the butter: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir continuously to prevent burning.
  3. Add the marshmallows: Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Mix in the cereal: Quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated with the marshmallow mixture. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt if desired for extra flavor.
  5. Press into the pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Use a buttered spatula or your hands (greased with a little butter) to press the mixture evenly into the pan.
  6. Cool and cut: Allow the Rice Krispie Treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Storage:

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap individual squares in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 6 weeks. Enjoy them as a quick snack or dessert whenever the craving hits!
