RAW CHOCOLATE

Raw Chocolate is a rich, decadent treat made with simple, natural ingredients that retain all the nutrients and flavors of the cacao bean. Unlike traditional chocolate, raw chocolate is unprocessed and made without heating, which helps preserve the antioxidants and healthy fats found in raw cacao. This homemade version is incredibly easy to make and can be customized with your favorite mix-ins like nuts, dried fruit, or coconut. With its intense, pure chocolate flavor, this raw treat is perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings in a healthier way.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: nuts, dried fruit, shredded coconut, or cacao nibs for mix-ins

Instructions

  1. Melt the Coconut Oil: In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, gently melt the coconut oil until it becomes liquid. Be careful not to overheat it; you want it warm, not hot.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the raw cacao powder, melted coconut oil, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Customize with Mix-ins: If desired, fold in any mix-ins like chopped nuts, dried fruit, or shredded coconut for added texture and flavor.
  4. Pour into Molds: Pour the chocolate mixture into silicone molds or onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread it out evenly if using a baking sheet, or fill each mold evenly for individual chocolates.
  5. Chill: Place the chocolate in the refrigerator or freezer for 20-30 minutes, or until it is completely set and firm.
  6. Serve and Store: Once the chocolate has hardened, remove it from the molds or break it into pieces if using a baking sheet. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it firm.

Enjoy your rich and healthy Raw Chocolate as a guilt-free indulgence that’s packed with antioxidants and flavor!
