This dish is not only visually appealing but also brings together the delicate crunch of phyllo with the fresh, earthy flavor of asparagus. It’s easy to prepare yet impressive, making it a crowd-pleaser for any gathering.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 20 spears), trimmed
  • 6 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Lemon zest or fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the phyllo: Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process until you have three layers. Cut the phyllo into strips about 3 inches wide.
  3. Wrap the asparagus: Place one asparagus spear at the end of each phyllo strip. Sprinkle with a little Parmesan cheese, then carefully roll the asparagus in the phyllo, leaving the tips exposed. Place the wrapped asparagus on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining asparagus and phyllo sheets.
  4. Bake: Brush the phyllo-wrapped asparagus with more melted butter and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the phyllo is golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve: Garnish with lemon zest or fresh herbs, if desired. Serve warm.

These Phyllo Wrapped Asparagus spears are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven and are perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your next meal or party. Enjoy!
