Microwave Chocolate Pudding

This rich and creamy microwave chocolate pudding is a quick and easy dessert that satisfies any chocolate craving. Made from scratch in just a few minutes, it offers the velvety texture and deep chocolate flavor of traditional stovetop pudding without the fuss. Perfect for weeknight indulgence or a last-minute sweet treat, this pudding can be enjoyed on its own or topped with whipped cream, fresh berries, or even a sprinkle of chocolate shavings for added decadence.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the dry ingredients are fully dissolved.
  3. Microwave the mixture on high for 3 minutes, stopping every minute to stir.
  4. After 3 minutes, microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the pudding thickens (about 1-2 minutes more).
  5. Once thickened, stir in the vanilla extract and butter until smooth.
  6. Let the pudding cool slightly before serving. For a chilled version, cover the surface with plastic wrap (to prevent a skin from forming) and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Enjoy your microwave chocolate pudding plain or with your favorite toppings!
