This show-stopping dessert features layers of red, green, and white gelatin, creating a beautiful and delicious treat that will impress your guests. It’s easy to make, and the layers can be customized with different flavors or even a touch of whipped cream for added richness.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (3 ounces) cherry or strawberry-flavored gelatin (red layer)
  • 1 package (3 ounces) lime-flavored gelatin (green layer)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (for the white layer)
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (for the white layer)
  • 4 cups boiling water (divided)
  • 1 cup cold water (divided)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (for blooming gelatin)
  • Optional: whipped cream, fresh berries, or mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Red Layer:
    • In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve the cherry or strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup of cold water and mix well.
    • Pour the red gelatin into a 9×13-inch glass dish or a similar-sized dish. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the gelatin is set but not firm (it should stick slightly to your finger when touched).
  2. Prepare the White Layer:
    • In a small bowl, sprinkle the 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water to bloom (soften) for about 5 minutes.
    • In a separate medium mixing bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until well combined.
    • Once the unflavored gelatin has bloomed, dissolve it in 1/2 cup of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Add the dissolved unflavored gelatin to the condensed milk mixture and stir well.
    • Let the white layer cool to room temperature before pouring it over the red layer. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until set.
  3. Prepare the Green Layer:
    • In another medium mixing bowl, dissolve the lime-flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup of cold water and mix well.
    • Carefully pour the green gelatin over the set white layer. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the gelatin is fully set.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Once all the layers are set, the layered Christmas gelatin can be cut into squares or shapes using cookie cutters.
    • Serve chilled, garnished with whipped cream, fresh berries, or mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy this festive Layered Christmas Gelatin as a beautiful and refreshing dessert that’s perfect for holiday gatherings!
