Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 12 oz kielbasa sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small head of cabbage, core removed and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water (optional, for extra moisture)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Kielbasa: Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned on both sides, about 4–5 minutes. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the Onions and Garlic: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
  3. Add the Cabbage: Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and toss to combine with the onions and garlic. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to evenly coat the cabbage with the seasonings.
  4. Cook the Cabbage: Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the cabbage for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is tender but still slightly crisp. Add the chicken broth or water if the mixture seems too dry.
  5. Combine Everything: Return the browned kielbasa to the skillet and stir it into the cabbage mixture. Add the apple cider vinegar and cook for another 2–3 minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. Serve: Garnish the skillet with fresh parsley and serve hot. Pair it with crusty bread, rice, or enjoy it as is for a low-carb meal.

Kielbasa Cabbage Skillet is an easy, budget-friendly dish bursting with smoky and savory flavors. Its simplicity and comforting taste make it a perfect addition to your weeknight dinner rotation!
