Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add in the molasses, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt or additional spices as needed.
  5. Once the sauce has reached your desired consistency, remove it from heat and let it cool.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
