This traditional Herring Salad is a popular dish in Scandinavian and Eastern European cuisines, celebrated for its refreshing yet hearty flavors. The star of the dish is pickled herring, which is combined with boiled potatoes, beets, apples, and onions for a mix of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. The vibrant pink hue from the beets gives the salad a beautiful presentation, making it perfect for a festive table or as a side dish for any occasion. The creamy dressing, made from mayonnaise and sour cream, ties the ingredients together for a satisfying and flavorful bite.
