Grilled Prawns

Grilled Prawns are a simple yet flavorful seafood dish that’s perfect for summer barbecues or a quick weeknight meal. Marinated in a blend of garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil, the prawns develop a bright, zesty flavor while remaining tender and juicy. Grilling gives them a smoky char and caramelized edges that enhance their natural sweetness. Served with a side of lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh herbs, these grilled prawns make a delicious appetizer or main course that’s light, healthy, and full of vibrant flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large prawns, peeled and deveined (leave tails on for presentation)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate the prawns: Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat. Let the prawns marinate for 15-20 minutes at room temperature, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the prawns: Thread the prawns onto skewers (if using), or place them directly on the grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the prawns are pink, opaque, and slightly charred.
  5. Serve: Remove the prawns from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.

These Grilled Prawns are a delicious and easy-to-make dish, perfect for outdoor grilling or a flavorful seafood dinner at home!
