Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Graham Cracker Pie Crust is a classic and versatile base used in many pies and desserts, especially cheesecakes, cream pies, and key lime pie. This no-fuss recipe requires just a few simple ingredients and comes together in minutes. It provides a sweet and slightly crunchy texture that perfectly complements a wide range of fillings. Making your own graham cracker crust is not only easy but also ensures a fresher taste and better consistency compared to store-bought versions. Plus, you can adjust the sweetness or add a touch of spice to make it your own!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 10 full sheets of graham crackers)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • (Optional) ¼ teaspoon cinnamon for a spiced crust

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make graham cracker crumbs: If you are starting with whole graham crackers, place them in a food processor or seal them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until you get fine crumbs.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined. The mixture should resemble wet sand. If using, add the cinnamon and stir.
  4. Press into pie dish: Pour the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish. Use the back of a spoon or the bottom of a measuring cup to press the crumbs firmly and evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the dish.
  5. Bake the crust: For a firmer, crispier crust, bake it in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. If using for a no-bake pie, you can skip the baking step and refrigerate the crust for 30 minutes to set.
  6. Cool and fill: Allow the crust to cool completely before adding your desired pie filling.

Enjoy your homemade graham cracker crust as the perfect foundation for your next delicious dessert!
