FETA CHICKEN BURGERS

Feta Chicken Burgers are a flavorful and juicy alternative to traditional beef burgers, combining tender ground chicken with the tangy, creamy goodness of feta cheese. These burgers are infused with Mediterranean-inspired flavors like garlic, herbs, and a hint of lemon, making them a deliciously fresh and satisfying option for any meal. The feta cheese not only adds a rich, salty bite but also keeps the burgers moist and tender. Perfect for grilling or pan-frying, these Feta Chicken Burgers are great served on a toasted bun with your favorite toppings, or alongside a fresh salad for a lighter meal. They’re a versatile, easy-to-make dish that’s sure to become a favorite in your burger rotation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for added texture)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Burger buns and your favorite toppings (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, tzatziki sauce, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the burger mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, crumbled feta cheese, breadcrumbs (if using), minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, dill, lemon zest, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined, but be careful not to overmix as this can make the burgers tough.
  2. Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2-inch thick.
  3. Cook the burgers: Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown and cooked through. Alternatively, you can grill the patties on a preheated grill over medium heat for the same amount of time.
  4. Toast the buns: If desired, toast the burger buns on the skillet or grill for 1-2 minutes until they are lightly browned and crisp.
  5. Assemble the burgers: Place each Feta Chicken Burger on a toasted bun and top with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a dollop of tzatziki sauce for a Mediterranean flair.

Feta Chicken Burgers are a delightful twist on the classic burger, offering a burst of Mediterranean flavor in every bite. They’re perfect for a summer cookout, a weeknight dinner, or any time you’re craving a delicious and satisfying meal.
