Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the cream and milk: Slowly pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring constantly. Add the salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat.

  6. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
