Topped with a smooth chocolate layer, these treats offer a satisfying balance of textures and flavors. They’re a hit at parties, family gatherings, or just as a delightful snack!

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz (1 package) mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray and set aside.
  2. Melt the base: In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until fully combined.
  3. Mix the cereal: Quickly add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow-peanut butter mixture, stirring until the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Press into the pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a greased spatula or wax paper to press the mixture evenly into the pan.
  5. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter chips (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  6. Top with chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Krispie mixture, spreading it evenly over the top.
  7. Chill and set: Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has set.
  8. Serve: Once the treats are set, cut them into squares and enjoy!

These treats are best stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
