Ingredients:
For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
For the Yakisoba:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 packages (14 oz each) of yakisoba noodles (fresh or precooked)
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, sugar, and sesame oil until well combined. Set aside.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Toss in the onion, carrots, cabbage, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add Noodles: If using fresh yakisoba noodles, rinse them under warm water to loosen. Add the noodles to the skillet and stir them with the vegetables.
- Combine with Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Toss everything together until the sauce evenly coats the noodles and vegetables. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix well.
- Serve: Once heated through, remove from heat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes:
- For added flavor, drizzle with a bit of sriracha or Japanese mayonnaise before serving.
- Feel free to substitute tofu, shrimp, or pork for the chicken for variation.
