Braised Pork Loin Chops

Braised Pork Loin Chops are a tender, flavorful dish that transforms simple pork chops into a savory, melt-in-your-mouth meal. Slowly braised in a rich, aromatic broth made with onions, garlic, herbs, and a splash of wine or broth, these pork loin chops are infused with deep flavor while staying incredibly moist. Perfect for a cozy dinner, this dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad. Braising the chops allows the flavors to develop and creates a delicious, comforting meal that feels both elegant and hearty.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in pork loin chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season the pork loin chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the fresh thyme, broth (or wine), Dijon mustard, and balsamic vinegar, if using. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet to add flavor to the sauce.
  5. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the liquid. Lower the heat, cover, and let the pork chops simmer gently for 30-40 minutes, or until tender and cooked through.
  6. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. If desired, reduce the sauce over medium heat until slightly thickened.
  7. Serve the braised pork loin chops with the sauce spooned over the top, garnished with fresh parsley.

Enjoy your juicy, flavorful braised pork chops with your favorite side dishes!
