Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and molasses. Stir well to combine.
  2. Add the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more sugar for sweetness or cayenne for extra heat if desired.
  5. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool. Once cooled, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate. The sauce can be stored for up to a week.
