Balsamic Pork Chops

Balsamic Pork Chops are a savory, sweet, and tangy dish that brings together the bold flavors of balsamic vinegar and tender, juicy pork. The balsamic glaze reduces into a rich, slightly sweet sauce that clings to the pork chops, creating a delicious caramelization on the outside while keeping the meat moist and flavorful. Garlic and herbs add an aromatic touch, elevating this simple dish into something truly special. These pork chops are quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner, yet sophisticated enough to serve at a dinner party. Pair them with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pork chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the pork chops: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C). Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the balsamic glaze: Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then stir in the balsamic vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, and thyme. Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reduces and thickens slightly.
  4. Return the pork chops to the skillet: Place the cooked pork chops back into the skillet, spooning the balsamic glaze over the top. Let the pork chops simmer in the glaze for another 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally to coat them evenly.
  5. Serve: Transfer the pork chops to a serving dish and drizzle with any remaining glaze. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.

These Balsamic Pork Chops are best served hot, with the sweet and tangy glaze adding a burst of flavor to every bite!
