  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 tbsp bacon grease (reserved from cooking the bacon)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon: In a large skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on paper towels to drain. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces and set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease.
  2. Pop the popcorn: In a large pot, heat the reserved bacon grease over medium heat. Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot with a lid. Shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping. Once the popping slows down, remove the pot from heat.
  3. Add butter and seasoning: Drizzle the melted butter over the popped popcorn, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the crumbled bacon and toss everything together until well combined.
  4. Optional cheese topping: For extra flavor, sprinkle the popcorn with grated Parmesan cheese and toss once more.
