Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 package (7 ounces) ladyfingers
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings or curls, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture:
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
  2. Make the Cream Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
  3. Assemble the Trifle:
    • Dip the ladyfingers quickly into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are lightly soaked but not soggy.
    • Arrange a layer of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a trifle dish or individual serving glasses.
    • Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
    • Repeat the layers until the dish is filled, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream on top.
  4. Add Finishing Touches:
Dust the top generously with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings or curls if desired.
  5. Chill and Serve:
Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.

This Tiramisu Trifle is as delightful to eat as it is to admire. Bon appétit!
