Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pizza crust (or homemade dough, if preferred)
  • 1 cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot, based on your preference)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1-2 jalapeños, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
  • Sour cream, for drizzling
  • Optional toppings: sliced black olives, diced tomatoes, or avocado slices

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and a few tablespoons of water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven: Follow the pizza crust package or recipe instructions for baking. Usually, this will be around 425°F (220°C).
  3. Assemble the pizza:
    • Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
    • Spread the salsa evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Sprinkle the seasoned ground beef over the salsa layer.
    • Add the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly across the top.
    • Scatter the onion slices, bell peppers, and jalapeños (if using) over the cheese.
  4. Bake the pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and drizzle with sour cream. Add any optional toppings if desired.
  6. Slice and enjoy: Cut into slices and serve immediately. Pair with a fresh side salad or tortilla chips for a complete Tex-Mex meal.

Enjoy your Tex-Mex Pizza, where every slice brings a little bit of spice and a lot of satisfaction!
