Granola Clusters

Granola Clusters are the perfect snack for those who love a balance of crunchy, chewy, and sweet flavors in every bite. These bite-sized treats are packed with wholesome ingredients like oats, nuts, seeds, and a touch of sweetness, making them ideal for breakfast, as a topping for yogurt, or simply as an on-the-go snack. The beauty of granola clusters lies in their versatility—customize them with your favorite add-ins like dried fruit, chocolate chips, or spices for a personalized twist. Easy to make and incredibly satisfying, these clusters are a healthier alternative to store-bought options and are sure to become a household favorite.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts work well)
  • 1/4 cup seeds (chia, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds)
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, or chopped apricots) or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, seeds, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey or maple syrup, melted coconut oil or butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir thoroughly to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  5. Form Clusters:
Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer, pressing down gently to encourage clumping. For larger clusters, press the mixture more firmly together.
  6. Bake:
Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even browning. If you prefer larger clusters, avoid stirring and let the mixture bake undisturbed. Watch closely during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
  7. Cool and Add Extras:
Remove the granola from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet—it will harden as it cools. If desired, gently mix in dried fruit or chocolate chips once the granola has cooled.
  8. Store:
Transfer the granola clusters to an airtight container and store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

These Granola Clusters are a delicious and nutritious snack that can be tailored to suit your taste. Enjoy them on their own, with milk, or as a topping for smoothie bowls and yogurt!
