Ingredients:

  • 1 lb green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Optional: ½ tsp red pepper flakes for spice
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Blister the Green Beans: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Add the green beans and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are blistered and tender-crisp. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Toss the Green Beans in Sauce: Return the green beans to the skillet. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar, tossing well to coat the beans in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  4. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds if desired, and serve hot.
