BAKED SWEET POTATO CHIPS

Baked Sweet Potato Chips are a healthier and delicious alternative to traditional fried chips, offering a satisfying crunch and a naturally sweet flavor. These chips are easy to make at home and require just a few ingredients. By baking thinly sliced sweet potatoes until crispy, you get a nutritious snack that’s rich in vitamins and fiber, with none of the guilt. Perfect for dipping or eating on their own, these chips are a great option for a light snack, party appetizer, or even as a side dish to your favorite meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, washed and scrubbed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
  • Optional seasonings: paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, or black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the Sweet Potatoes: Using a mandoline or a sharp knife, thinly slice the sweet potatoes into rounds, about 1/8-inch thick. The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips will be.
  3. Toss with Olive Oil: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil until they are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange on Baking Sheets: Lay the slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, making sure they don’t overlap. Sprinkle with sea salt and any additional seasonings you like (paprika, garlic powder, etc.).
  5. Bake: Bake the sweet potato chips for 40-50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and lightly browned. Keep a close eye on them toward the end to prevent burning.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the chips cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes to crisp up further. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for a few days.

These Baked Sweet Potato Chips are the perfect guilt-free snack, combining natural sweetness and crunch with endless flavor possibilities!
