Chocolate Easter Nests are a fun and festive treat that’s perfect for celebrating the holiday with family and friends. These adorable little nests are made from melted chocolate and crunchy noodles or cereal, giving them a delightful texture. They’re shaped to resemble bird nests and filled with colorful candy eggs, making them a charming addition to any Easter table. Not only are these nests easy to make, but they’re also a hit with both kids and adults. Whether you’re looking for a quick dessert or a creative edible craft, these chocolate nests are sure to bring smiles all around!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (milk or dark chocolate)
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips (optional for extra flavor)
  • 4 cups chow mein noodles or crispy rice cereal
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans for decorating

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips (and butterscotch chips, if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth and fully melted. You can also melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
  2. Mix in the noodles: Once the chocolate is melted, stir in the vanilla extract (if using), then gently fold in the chow mein noodles or crispy rice cereal until they’re fully coated with the chocolate mixture.
  3. Shape the nests: Using a spoon, drop the chocolate-coated noodles or cereal onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, forming small mounds. Use the back of the spoon to press down in the center of each mound, creating a nest shape with a small indentation in the middle.
  4. Decorate: While the nests are still soft, place 2-3 mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans in the center of each nest.
  5. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the nests are firm and set.
  6. Serve: Once set, gently remove the nests from the parchment paper and arrange them on a plate or serving tray.

Enjoy your Chocolate Easter Nests as a fun holiday dessert or as part of an Easter egg hunt surprise!
